CARD OF THANKS
National Night Out and our Prepare Fair could not have been possible without the help of a lot of volunteers. Here is my long list and I hope I don't forget anyone:
Sheriff Bardsley for all his support of my ideas for community involvement in crime prevention and emergency preparedness; Mike Wright for his excellent coordination skills in arranging for the EMS and Fire Department crews to attend; Undersheriff Jon Dearmore for his public relations support; all the emergency responders who rose to the occasion and showcased their departments' volunteers and equipment--how lucky we are to have them with their great spirit, pride, and dedication to unselfishly helping others;
Citizen Corp for the supporting funds; all the Sheriff's Office staff including Janelle, Aric, Vernon and Raedyn for special projects; Deputy Bill Tawater and his Search and Rescue volunteers; the Fairgrounds staff; the Boyle Brothers (they have a newly released song, and put on a great show, too);
The Red Cross; the Wahkiakum County Health Dept.; Disaster Outreach Services; the Coast Guard Auxiliary; Bottoms Up Espresso; Ham Radio Operator John Simmons and family; and Cowlitz County Chief Criminal Deputy Charlie Rosenzweig with the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum SWAT vehicle.
Last but not least, I want to thank the Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Ora Loraine & Ray Bauer, Kim Sharp, Pete & Carol Fleury, Terri Elfers, and Rick Damitio. Your enormous amount of help was the only reason we were able to have this successful event.
