Sheriff's Report

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

August 4—10:12 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to Main Street where a woman had tripped and struck her head on the sidewalk; she was taken to the Wahkiakum Family Practice Clinic. 7:02 p.m. A caller reported people were stealing cedar in West Valley; the state patrol was notified. 8:37 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported being harassed; an officer investigated. 9:41 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported being harassed; an officer investigated.

August 5—1:14 p.m. A caller reported vandalism to public restrooms; an officer investigated. 5:06 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a theft of a key and campaign signs; an officer investigated. 5:12 p.m. A two-car collision was reported on SR 4 in Skamokawa; the Cathlamet ambulance responded and a woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

August 6—12:25 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported kids were running through yards; an officer investigated. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to aid a man with abdominal pain; the patient was transported to a hospital. 6:02 p.m. A caller reported a reckless driver in Cathlamet; an officer made contact. 10:40 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a domestic disturbance; an officer investigated.

August 7—7:19 a.m. A caller reported a woman was walking along SR 4 and waving arms at traffic; an officer and mental health personnel responded. 11:28 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to aid a toddler injured in a fall. 5:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an East Valley residence to aid a girl injured in a fall; the patient was transported to a hospital. 6:24 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported vandalism.

August 8—5:42 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the nursing home to aid a woman with chest pain; the patient was transported to a hospital. 8:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the Cathlamet school to aid a man with a knee injury; the patient was transported to a hospital. 9:34 a.m. A Rosedale business reported a theft of $115.62 in fuel; an officer investigated and stopped a subject who denied involvement. 12:48 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a delivery truck was speeding and driving recklessly; an officer made contact. 12:57 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported someone had stolen plants and was trying to sell them; an officer investigated. 2:40 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet residence to aid a woman with chest pain; she was taken to the clinic. 2:52 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to aid a different woman with chest pain; the patient was transported to a hospital. 3:04 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported credit card fraud; an officer investigated. 4:56 p.m. A motorist reported seeing a person with a suspended license driving on SR 4; a deputy made contact.

August 9—8:45 p.m. A Puget Island man reported a burglary; an officer investigated. 9:53 p.m. A caller reported seeing a large bon fire at an Elochoman Valley residence. 10:29 p.m. A caller reported hearing what sounded like gunshots at a Rosedale residence; an officer investigated. 11:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the fire hall to aid a man with injured ribs; the patient was transported to a hospital.

August 10—12:03 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at County Line Park; a person was arrested. 2:50 p.m. A caller reported his wallet had been stolen. 10:25 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported at a Cathlamet residence.

August 11—12:05 a.m. A caller reported hearing several shots and other noise at a Rosedale residence; no one was there when an officer arrived; at 1:16 a.m., the investigating officer reported hearing shots but was unable to find the source.
