Runners compete in state meet
The Wahkiakum Mule and Naselle Comet boys cross country teams competed in the Class 1B/2B state meet last Saturday at Sun Willows Golf Course, Pasco.

Mossyrock hands Mules a hard loss

The Wahkiakum Mule football season came to an end with a 50-20 loss to the Mossyrock Vikings last Thursday in Mossyrock.

Lady Mules 4th at district, head to state tourney
The Wahkiakum Lady Mule volleyball team placed fourth in the Southwest Washington Class B volleyball tournament last week and will play in the state meet this week in Yakima.

The Adna Pirates edged the Wahkiakum Mules 14-6 in a hard-fought, defensive Central League football game last Friday.

Mules start volleyball playoffs
The Wahkiakum Mule volleyball team started district tournament competition yesterday (Wednesday) after The Eagle had gone to press.

Mules, Comets qualify for cross country state
The Wahkiakum Mules finished second and the Naselle Comets finished third in last Saturday's Class B district cross country meet at St. Martin's College, Lacey.

Wahkiakum youth finish season with 4-1 record
Wahkiakum Youth Football team finished their season with a 4-1 record this year.

Club volleyball meeting ahead
Volleyball Coach Patty Anderson will present information about club volleyball at a meeting November 10, 8 p.m. in the Wahkiakum High School Gym.

Youth football this Saturday
Wahkiakum Youth Football will have a home game this Saturday at the Wahkiakum High School field.
The youth team competes in a league including teams from Cowlitz County. Three games will be held at the Mule Stadium starting at 4 p.m. The Wahkiakum youth team will take the field around 7 p.m.

Mules crush Light, host Trojans in homecoming

Six plays, 157 yards rushing, 77 yards passing, three touchdowns, 20-0 lead. That was the first quarter for the Wahkiakum Mule offense in their 40-12 win over the Vancouver Light last Friday.

Local FFA kids come second in logging rodeo
The Cathlamet FFA Chapter hosted a logging rodeo on September 20, with their team placing second overall.
Mitch Moonen came first in the chainsaw, chokersetting and log chop events. Other first places were Tyson Bain in the log toss, Major Thomas in the one-man crosscut, and Sadie Mace in the match split.
Moonen earned 17 points making his the top male performer of the Rodeo. Bain brought in 15.5 points for the team. Standouts for the girls were Melissa Birchim, 13 points and Brianne Most, seven points.
